This month, Finsa UK and Finsa Home hosted the annual Finsa Group International Convention at Inglewood Manor on the Wirral.

Finsa, which has its UK headquarters in Birkenhead, welcomed its top management from Spain, which included Tito Garcia, Finsa’s CEO, as well as delegates comprising of business clients, staff and overseas management and key local business figures.

The event was supported and assisted by the Wirral Chamber of Commerce. Patsy Crocker, of the Wirral Chamber, gave delegates an update about initiatives and business support available, and the way in which Wirral will be developing as a location business over the coming years.

“Wirral Chamber of Commerce was delighted to be invited to play a role in this important event,” she said.

“I feel that through Wirral Chamber working in partnership with companies, such as Finsa UK and Finsa Home, we can positively promote the excellence of Wirral as a place where businesses can locate and thrive.”

Also taking part was Olympian high jump medalist Steve Smith who is now recognised as one of the country’s leading motivational speakers who gave a presentation – Raise the Bar – which related to business his dedication and motivation in achieving success.

“It was wonderful to be part of this excellent Finsa global event, the opportunity for me to welcome their customers and overseas staff to our region was a proud moment,” said Steve.

“What was very clear is that Finsa is an organisation committed in focusing on developing winning behaviours and embracing change enabling it to deliver product excellence.”

Also announced during the event was a partnership developed between Finsa and Wirral Metropolitan College which will see four new apprentices starting their work journey with the company in areas such as retail, warehouse and marketing.

Staff from Liverpool John Moores University School of Architecture also attended and from this there are now plans to hold a second student design competition between the University and Finsa UK during 2015. This is following on from the success of its first competition, Organisation for Students Ideas, which was held in 2011.

Tito Garcia, Finsa CEO, summarised the success of the event, he said: “My congratulations to all involved, this event was a great achievement for Finsa and I am very pleased to say that it was positively received and enjoyed by everyone.

“I was delighted to meet with so many people, from our staff, clients and members of our local business community and to see first hand how successfully the area is developing. ”
